Feeling the Love from the Heavens Above {and meeting famous folks}

Uncategorized

If you follow me on Facebook, then you may have already heard about my streak of good luck over the past few weeks.

God has truly been good! It all started the day after I shared my Easter decor and the story about my half-sister, Tifani, that passed away with cancer four years ago.  I told my husband that maybe my good luck is Tifani’s way of sending her love from the Heavens above.

First, I found out that I won a giveaway from Miss Mustard Seed! On March 16th, I’ll be attending Marian Parson’s Milk Paint workshop, DIY seminar and book signing in Roswell, Georgia. I’m so excited about meeting her in person and learning how to use milk paint. This giveaway was for a pair of all-day event tickets, so my friend, Nancy from Artsy Chicks Rule, will be going with me.

Update: Here are some Instagram photos from our day at Miss Mustard Seed’s Paint Workshop. Marian is such a sweet person and I had an incredible day painting, meeting new friends and hearing Marian’s story.

Nancy paints furniture, so I thought she’d be the perfect companion for the event. We also get a copy of Miss Mustard Seed’s book, Inspired You and my plan is to use what I learn when I repaint the black furniture in our family room.

I also felt pretty lucky when my husband and I found out we were both given passes to Josh Turner‘s Meet and Greet before his concert this past Thursday night. It’s not everyday you get to meet someone famous, especially when its your favorite country music artist.  Yeah, that handsome man is a pretty big deal.

If only my husband could sing to me in that golden baritone voice…

Later this week, I’ll have two posts to share with you.

First, I’ll be posting a tutorial on a new technique to give flower pots an aged finish and by the end of the week, I’ll be revealing our hallway redo. I can’t wait to show you all the pretty details!

    Hey Tricia!! I just saw this. I lost my sister in law in September to bone cancer. It really knocked us for a loop. My brother really I guess thought if they didn’t talk about it, she wouldn’t die. What a shock to all of us. Hopefully enjoying making some of this cool stuff will be my way of moving on and learning that this happens. We don’t live forever. ๐Ÿ™ Looks like your visit was a blast! Time for me to get Tony to cut some more boards and get BUSY!! Maybe WE need a Charleston sign in our house!!

      Thank you, Debbie! It was pretty exciting to meet him. I told my husband last year that I was not going to another concert until I got to see Josh Turner. Little did know I’d be standing right next to him one day. Only two more days till the MMS class!!!

      Thank you, Jami! I just hope I can pick out the right color while I’m there. I have the hardest time making decisions when it comes to paint.

    Yeah! I too have met Josh! He is so good looking and an all around wonderful person. I am not a country fan, but I am a Josh Turner fan! My Aunt has a slight obsession about him, she has been to over 50 of his concerts, the last number I knew of!

      I wasn’t a fan of country music until I met my husband, but you can’t help but be a fan of Josh Turner. He just seems so down to earth. Wow, I can’t believe your aunt has been to 50 of his concerts! It took me 4 years of waiting just to see the first one. I’m impressed!
