Welcome to my previous cozy little home!
Our 1980′s ranch home was 1644 square feet with three bedrooms and two baths. Although our house was small, we loved the location and felt lucky that we had wonderful neighbors. Our property sat a football field’s length off the road and backed up to a 7,000-acre state park, so there was plenty of room for our three boys and dog to play.
I recently added our home’s paint colors.
1. Sherwin Williams Rivulet SW6760, 2. Sherwin Williams Silver Strand SW7057, 3. Behr Gray Morning 490F-4, 4.Benjamin Moore Gray Cashmere 2138-60, 5. Sherwin Williams Tidewater SW6477, 6. Behr Gobi Desert 710-C3
More details of each room will be added to the room reveal (and rooms in progress) page as we continue to make updates.
All of the updates we have made to our home have been on a real-life budget. If possible, we try to find ways to work with what we have or figure out how to do home improvement projects ourselves to save some money. I love shopping thrift stores, repurposing things I already own, and copying high-end looks on a budget. Life’s too short to be in debt!
The Family Room/ Sunroom
My style has evolved over the years, but I would describe it as mix of casual, coastal and vintage-cottage-classic. I love mixing textures and neutrals but adding just a touch of color.
With the help of some family and friends, my husband added our 22′ x 18′ family room when baby #2 came along. I can’t imagine our home without this light-filled room!
Wall color: Gobi Desert 710c-3 by Behr.
We have used this color in the family room, kitchen and living room. All three rooms can be seen from each other, so it helps the rooms flow well together.

Guest Bathroom
Vintage-Inspired Guest Bathroom Reveal
In person, Sherwin Williams Tidewater 6477 looks very similar to the sample below. It is a light turquoise but has enough grey undertones to keep it from being garish. It reminds me of the color of a Tiffani & Co. box, but lighter.
Our Master Bedroom
I love how changing paint colors can transform a room! Our master bedroom has been painted five times, but I think I’ll put the paint brush down for a little while, at least for our bedroom.

Wall color: BM’s Gray Cashmere 2138-60 color matched and mixed with Sherwin Williams Duration Matte. This color is a blue with gray undertones. It changes with the amount of light in the room.
The nightstands and dresser were painted with Sherwin Williams Proclassic Latex Enamel in gloss.
Master Bathroom {In Progress}
Older homes usually have tiny bathrooms. I’ll be sharing how I keep our bathroom organized soon.
Wall color: Custom color. It’s a perfect light gray with brown undertones. I used Sherwin Williams. I had to mix 3 different paint samples together before I came up with the right shade. It is similar to Sherwin William’s Silver Strand.

Wall color: Haze by Behr ICC-22
Paint for chalkboard wall: Krylon’s Chalkpaint. This paint goes a long way. I only used 3/4 of a quart for this wall. The back of the bookcase is painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Provence.
Our Teenage Son’s Bedroom
This is our teenage son’s bedroom. He’ll be going off to college soon, so his office-in-a-closet may be used as my craft closet one day. 🙂
