Hello, friends! I hope you’re having a great Tuesday. Today is the second day of the Seasonal Simplicity Spring Home Tours hosted by April from House of Hoff and Krista from The Happy Housie. I’m so excited that I get to team up with such a talented group of bloggers for my first spring home tour!
When the tour ends on Friday, there will be a total of 25 beautiful homes decorated for spring with tons of ideas on how to add seasonal touches to your home without feeling like you have to go overboard.
If you’re coming over from The House of Wood…welcome! Isn’t Jen’s home beautiful?
I have to admit…my favorite season is spring. How appropriate is it that the first seasonal tour of our new/old house is for the spring season? And even more appropriate is the theme of the tour…Seasonal Simplicity. I’m all about keeping things simple. My goal for decorating my home for spring was to use things that I already have instead of buying anything at the store other than some plants that I’ll transfer to the garden.
So let’s get started on the porch!
For the first time ever, I have a covered front porch so I couldn’t wait to gather some furniture and decorative items from the inside of the house to the outside. All of the furniture pieces were either free or thrift store finds so I gave them a couple coats exterior paint to pull the mismatched pieces together. The sign was a DIY project.

Nothing says spring like tulips. I love being able to decorate with flowers all year long so I bought these faux real touch tulips on Amazon for less than $5. Shipping took a few weeks, but it was totally worth it.
And now let’s move on to the master bedroom.

I bought the metal caddy on Decor Steals. It’s such a gorgeous shade of green.
My oldest son’s bedroom makeover was the first completed room I posted about for our new house and it’s the last room of the tour. He’s at college right now but he’ll totally get what this quote on the letter board says when he comes home. He’s not a fan of winter, either. ?
Well, that concludes our spring home tour today, folks!
Our home is a work in progress, so if you follow along, you won’t miss all the details on how we’ll inject some farmhouse style to our 1915 bungalow on a budget. The master bathroom is going to be pretty amazing. I really appreciate you stopping by! Make sure you go visit Aniko at Place of My Taste next. She has a gorgeous home full of color and awesome DIY projects.
