The Never-Ending To Do List

I am a perpetual list maker. I make them at work, at home…and there’s always a to-do list running through my head. I make lists because #1 I’m a bit very scatter brained and #2 There is a certain feeling of accomplishment when I can draw a line through something when it actually gets d-o-n-e.

I’ve been busy this past week putting the finishing touches on my laundry room so I can link it up to Remodelaholic’s Laundry Room and Mudroom Budget Makeover Link Party later this week. Our laundry room is super small so it has to be super efficient. I’ll be showing you how I take advantage of every square inch. Plus, you’ll get to see how OCD organized-by-necessity that I am. For the people who know me and are reading this, I hear you laughing.

Here’s a couple of amazingly organized laundry rooms by Kim from Sand and Sisal and Jen from IHeart Organizing:

The second thing on my to-do list is to get started on painting my kitchen table. This is my inspiration picture that I’ve been holding onto in my Houzz Ideabook forever.

I’m a bit smitten by the color turquoise. When I found out that our small town had just opened an antique furniture store that sells Annie Sloan Chalk paint, I had to go see what the color Provence Blue looked like in person. Love at first sight! It’s similar to the color above, but umpteen times better. I could have talked to the owner, Terri Simandl of Terri’s Treasures all day about Annie Sloan paint, no kidding. I was fascinated! I can’t wait to get started on my kitchen table so I can see what all the fuss is about. In the meantime, here is a picture of a nightstand that she did using Empire Silk red and Provence blue.

Red and turquoise together…a girl after my own heart!

  1. Look forward to seeing your laundry room! Mine is in need of some help, so I know yours will be an inspiration. Yay!

A friend of mine is an Annie Sloan stockist here in Gvl. I haven’t made the plunge yet, but I’ve got a few pieces I’m thinking about painting. Your table is going to look fab, I’m sure!

    • Maybe your friend can get you a discount. :) It’s not cheap. I think I heard my wallet yelp when wrote the check. But, I’ve heard how good the coverage and durability is. The last time I painted my table, I used oil based primer and paint. I can’t stand the fumes and it has already started chipping. Darn it!
